great to hear harry reid on this. the last time i checked the do so called proposal that a he put forth in july didn't really receive any support and only dealt with tax increases. it wasn't a comprehensive deal and didn't involve real spending cuts it was just raise tax and it went no where. for him to blame republicans, come on. >> don't forget, it has been 13 hyundais since hair arery reid even passed a budget out of the united states senate. we don't even know what the united states senators stand for in terms of the budget debate. the same thing on taxes. the house actually passed a lot of people don't know that earlier this year the house passed a bill to extend all of the bush era tax cuts for another year until resolve the issue. the senate again didn't act on that. the grave yard of the items are the united states senate. the other thing interesting harry reid said the president has his door open to any negotiating in any kind of deal that the republicans may offer. they put revenues on the table which a lot

senators reid and mcconnell are discussing potential agreement. where we get a bipartisan bill out of the senate. over to the house and done in a timely fashion. so that we met the december 31 deadline. given how things have been working in this town, we always have to wait and see until it happens. one thing the american people should not have to wait and see is some sort of action. if we don't see an agreement between the two leaders in the senate, i expect a bill to go on the floor and i asked senator reid to do this, put a bill on the floor that makes sure that taxes on middle class families don't go up, that unemployment insurance is still available for 2 million people. and that lays the groundwork for additional deficit reduction and economic growth steps we can take in the new year. let's not miss this deadline. that is the bare minimum we should be able to get done. it shouldn't that hard since democrats and republicans both say they don't want to see tax goes up on middle class families. i just to have to repeat. outside of washington, n

when it got to the house it got stuck, so senator inhofe and i and senator reid went over to meet with john boehner and chairman mica and we all agreed we'd get it done. neither side got everything they want and anyone who takes that position in my opinion is not putting country first. i don't care whether they are republican, a democrat, or anything else. we are not each of us going to get everything we want. lord knows. there's a lot i could do if i had a wand and could make it happen. but everybody has a different view of exactly how to go forward and i think we're being tested here. so i know it's tough going, and i know if we don't get a deal, it doesn't stop there, we'll keep on working. but there is no reason on this beautiful god's green earth why we can't get a deal here. if everyone is sincere in saying they want the middle class could be protected, we can get a deal here. president obama says $250,000 is the line, maybe i think $350,000 is the line, maybe someone else $500,000, maybe somebody else $150,000. we can meet somewhere and cut that reason somewhere in the middle. a
